All We Could Eat
"This life is not for complaint, but for satisfaction."
-Henry David Thoreau
Shortly after I mused, recently, on my brother's visit to an all-you-can-eat restaurant, Spouse read my words and quietly absorbed my offhand comment that we had not partaken of a buffet in some time.
It would seem that my observations had a powerful effect for their direct result was to inspire us to visit such a buffet.
I meant the words honestly and lightly, and noted that we had very good reason for not attending lately; but Spouse offered and I am not equipped with the capability to refuse a buffet: this Saturday we dined largely and ate everything on display in a local Indian restaurant. It was a joyful time as, satiated, we trudged contentedly out of the restaurant and into a bright afternoon with the brief thought that life quite possibly could not get any better.
